"Beer, Please!" opens April 17 and will remain on display through Oct. 27. The museum has curated a "Year of Beer" of related programming, from movie and beer nights to history walks to home brewing demonstrations.
"The exhibit is kind of pub quiz-themed," says Preston Moore, the museum's director of marketing and communication. "There are different activities you can do to learn through engaging with the exhibit."
One example - pulling taps on a replica bar reveals answers to beer trivia questions.
The exhibit covers everything from beer brewing in ancient Egypt to the Prohibition era to today, with special attention to the history of Czech and Slovak brewers in America.
"Love it or hate it, beer is so ingrained in America's culture that there are stories to be told," Moore says. Visitors may pick up useful trivia, such as the fact that Budweiser's name was essentially lifted from a brewery in the Czech Republic.
"The exhibit walks you through a brief history of the world through the lens of beer," Moore says. "It's not just the artifacts, it's the activities mixed throughout."
