Darcy Hilton, of Western Fraternal Life's Lodge Cedar No. 7 in Cedar Rapids, IA, was awarded the Iowa Fraternalist of the Year.This award is given to members from societies in Iowa to honor their commitment and dedication to their lodges. On March 20, the Iowa Fraternal Alliance presented Darcy with a plaque at the Iowa Fraternal Alliance meeting.

Her application mentioned organizing the Trunk-or-Treat events for the past four years, and planning and organizing fundraising events like rummage sales and silent auctions. She has also served as YELL! group liaison for five years. Lodge No. 7 President Jason Logan said, “We are delighted to honor Darcy as the Iowa Fraternalist of the Year. Her involvement with our lodge makes us a better lodge and we are proud of Darcy to have earned this award.”

There are over a dozen fraternal associations forming the Iowa Fraternal Alliance. These fraternal societies all serve their members by providing financial services and investing in their communities.
