Spring Break Picnic Brings Community Together

Spring Break Picnic Brings Community Together

Jun 18, 2018

Spring break is a great time to have some fun. Members of No. 496 (Broken Arrow, OK) organized a special Spring Break Picnic for the community on March 24 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, OK. Everyone was invited to come and play games of volleyball, horseshoes, bean bag toss, and cards. They also enjoyed hotdogs, chips, watermelon, and the opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors.

Youth wore YELL! t-shirts to promote youth membership in Western at the picnic. Youth enjoy a picnic in the spring weather.

Western's Members in Action program was used to cover the cost of food supplies to make the event successful. Six members of Western volunteered their time to make sure things ran smoothly. Member and event organizer Sherry Leland commented, “The fellowship was good for the community. Everyone who attended wanted to know when we are going to do it again.”

The Members in Action program is a member benefit provided by Western. Any member may apply for the program to fund promotional items and supplies to make their community event a success. For complete information, visit this page.
