We read a thank-you note from the Fred Biskup family for the memorial. A thank-you was given to all members who have been working on our lodge hall. Pictures were shared with the huge improvement.

Monetary donations were given to Maxine Olson and Richard Kruta.

Congratulations to YELL! members Jake and Brooke Fredrickson for winning prizes in the Western Photo Contest.
Donations were given to the MN Scholarship Fund, Trails for Treatment, Sunshine House, and two local food shelves.

President Cathy invited us to her house in January for a meeting and card party.

September 2018

Members held their annual bake and craft sale at the Northland Threshing Bee in September. Our YELL! group had a fundraiser the same day and donated the money they raised to our lodge treasurer. A short meeting was held at the sale.

We ordered a Western banner to use at our activities.

Congratulations to two of our YELL! members, Brooke and Jake Fredrickson, for placing in Western’s Art Contest.
Members were given new shirts with the Western logo.

We entertained and served lunch at the Greenbush Care Center this month.

Thank you to the members who donated bars and ice cream for residents at Green Leaf Senior Center last week, and to Cathy for the lively Polka music.

Donation ideas for the year were discussed. Next meeting will be after our ditch cleaning in a couple weeks, weather permitting.

Members held their annual appreciation banquet on November 19 at the Nordheim Café, with a short meeting afterward.

We planned to do giving tree donations to three local banks.

YELL! members passed out prizes. Joy and Marcella Gust celebrated birthdays.

Members have been busy visiting nursing homes, serving lunches, and playing Bingo at care centers. We helped with church suppers, furnished food, and worked at a funeral.

We are asking members to bring ideas to the next meeting for 2018 donations.

September 2017

We held our annual bake and craft sale at the Threshing Bee on September 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There was a huge turnout of members who donated items and worked throughout the day. We have applied for Matching Funds to be donated to the new Sunshine House that is being built in Grand Forks.

For the youth giveaway this year, we purchased two $50 gift certificates to Walmart. Our YELL! group manned a booth and the money they collected was donated back to our local lodge for the scholarship fund.

Vivian Peterson reported on the State Meeting.

The bake and craft sale was September 10 at Northland Threshing Bee. We gave away two gift cards to youth. The YELL! group was busy at the Threshing Bee. They had a candy shop with treats that proceeds were donated back to the lodge, they drove tractors in the parade, pitched straw for the threshing machines, and worked in a blacksmith shop. A great afternoon full of history, learning, and fun!
