Members met September 11 at Holy Ghost Rectory. We collected personal care items for Moving Vets Forward.
Our Thanksgiving potluck will be at 5:30 p.m. on November 14 at the Holy Ghost Rectory meeting room. Plan to attend. Bring hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, etc. for area youth.
Members met August 15 at Mandan Park. Donations of pet food, etc. were made to Nebraska Humane Society.
We had a meeting September 11 and collected items for the women’s shelter.
October brings Halloween and we ask members to bring bagged Halloween candy for the day care children.
Our May 8 meeting began with supper provided by Carol Shafer at the Holy Ghost Rectory. We discussed the Czech Slovak Festival that many of our members participated in.
Our donation this month is for Youth Emergency Services who help young people without a home, stranded, or alone.
Our annual 50 and 75-year member dinner was held June 12 at the rectory lower level. We provided a traditional pork and kraut supper with all the trimmings. Members honored our 50 and 75-year recipients.
Members met for a meeting on April 10.
On May 8, members brought personal products (shampoo, soap, and wash cloths), as well as t-shirts and socks for YES (Youth Emergency Services Shelter).
June 12 is our annual 50 and 75-year member dinner.

We contributed cleaning products to Stephen Center in South Omaha. Our lodge received the Three-Star Award under the new points program.
Members are assisting the Czech Cultural Club for upcoming Czech Days to be held April 29 at St. Nicholas Serbian Hall on 52nd and Harrison Streets. We are hoping to have a representative from Western there to talk about our company.
Members donated non-perishable food for the St. Vincent de Paul Pantry.
Our bell ringers collected $151.07 during their stint for The Salvation Army.
Carol and her crew of youngsters made 100 hats for American Heart Association’s Red Hat Campaign for babies. They also made 160 valentines for veterans at Nebraska Veteran's Home in Bellevue.
The March meeting will feature a special supper treat. Come join us and bring cleaning products for the Stephen Center.

Members discussed our 2018 lodge projects. These will be announced in upcoming articles.
Carol Shafer reported about a project the youth members initiated for the Nebraska Veteran’s Home. They made cards that said, “We’re hooked on you. Thank you for your service.” They had the lodge name and Western logo. We stapled them to Goldfish treats and presented them to 125 veterans on November 11.
Members had an election of officers with the following results: President Jerri Underwood, Vice President Ed Svajgl, Secretary/Treasurer Janet Kurmel, and Trustees Frank Ourada, Susan Casne, and Carol Shafer.
A donation was made to Moving Vets Forward, for expenses.
Members met on October 10 and enjoyed a great supper. We collected bagged Halloween candy for Diapers 2 Diplomas Daycare. The State Convention was discussed at length.
Our November Thanksgiving potluck was November 14. Winter wear items were collected for area youth.
We held our annual picnic at Mandan Park and had Zest members as our guests. A great meal was cooked by our secretary, Janet.
We collected blankets, towels, coffee containers, and pill bottles for the Humane Society and members made a cash donation.
Our next meeting is October 10 and we will ask members to bring bagged candy for preschoolers.
Our lodge is sponsoring the State Meeting on September 30 at Holy Ghost Church. Please join us and help.
We held a special meeting on June 13 for our 50 and 75-year members and birthday party for the lodge, which turned 120 years old on July 4. One 75-year member and five 50-year members attended with family. Thanks to the cooks who prepared the meal.
There was no July meeting. Our next meeting is August 15 and is our annual picnic with members of Zest at Mandan Park. We will collect items for the Humane Society, like blankets, towels, empty pill bottles, plastic coffee cans, and toilet paper tubes.
Members met on April 12. We rang the bell for the Salvation Army and raised $350 in two hours.
Members collected cleaning products and socks for Stephen Center and food pantry items for St. Vincent de Paul Pantry at Holy Ghost.
We had a meeting on May 9 and learned of George Kurmel’s passing. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.
