We held our first meeting of 2018 at the Bohemian Hall. The officers were present. A report of the Christmas dance was given.
In February, we decided not to have an anniversary party in March, but rather a lodge party on Memorial Day weekend for 50 and 75-year members.
On March 18, we met and discussed the State Meeting. Catherine Newland asked for the use of the hall on April 20 through 22 for the Hunting with Veterans event. We decided on plans for Memorial Day weekend.
We met on April 15 and followed up on the State Meeting and Hunting with Veterans. Betty sent letters to 50 and 75-year members.
On May 20, we met to discuss the success of Hunting with Veterans. Lodge and area youth assisted with the event, serving as guides and getting things set up. Roger and Betty reported on the State Meeting. They wish to thank No. 153 for hosting and for the good time.
Members met June 17. A report was made about Memorial Day activities. An open-house was sponsored at the Bohemian Hall with cake and refreshments for the public. Following, a party was held at 6 p.m. with a potluck. We honored 50 and 75-year members. David Zigler and Troy Boucek were presented with 50-year pins. We then followed with a sweets walk and Bingo. Thank you to Catherine for her work on the event.
Adults and youth, along with folks in the community, gathered at the Bohemian National Cemetery and First Creek Cemetery to place flowers on unmarked graves.
A request was made to use the Bohemian Hall for a birthday party, the community Bohemian reunion, the cemetery district annual meeting, and state township meeting.
Members met on July 16. The cemetery board held its annual meeting at the Bohemian Hall. A funeral dinner was held for Maxim McKain. The lodge provided meat and members brought desserts and salads they prepared. Discussion was held on various fundraising ideas and other topics.

At the April 17 meeting, a report was made of all the work done to the Bohemian Hall. Many hours were spent by members preparing for the State Meeting.
On May 22, we held our monthly meeting and discussed the KS State Meeting we hosted on April 22 at the Bohemian Hall. We were happy to have the National Czech and Slovak Queen and the KS Czech Queen in attendance. We were also glad to see Vice President and Treasurer Jack Minder from the Home Office and our District Director Ross Sestak. A report was given on the upcoming Memorial Day activities.
On May 28, we held a Memorial Day open house. Members provided cookies and cakes for the event. Over 40 people were in attendance during the event. The community picnic was held later that day. We provided hot dogs and the hamburger was donated. There were over 40 in attendance. A cookie walk was held, followed by Bingo. Thanks to Catherine for getting the prizes and supplies.
On May 29, a group of members, lodge youth, and area youth gathered at the Bohemian Cemetery to place flowers on graves.
On June 13, the lodge assisted with an after funeral lunch for the family and friends of Gerald Miller.
December 2016 - February 2017
On December 19, we met at the Bohemian Hall. We discussed the dance and the Members in Action project held on November 24 at the Bohemian Hall. A bake sale was held in conjunction with the dance.
Members and guests gathered for a Christmas party at 6 p.m. on December 10 for social time, followed by meal at 6:30 p.m. We provided ham and turkey and those attending providing salads and desserts. Afterwards, we enjoyed a cake walk, gift exchange, and Bingo. Area and lodge youth assisted with the event while Roger and Betty Miller and Shirley and Troy Boucek hosted.
The January 16 meeting was called to order by President Roger Miller. An election of officers was held with all officers staying the same.
We met at 8 p.m. on February 20 at the Bohemian Hall. Discussion was held on the upcoming State Meeting.
A report was made on the south entrance project. A contractor has been secured, and construction will begin soon. It will be completed before the State Meeting.
Those in attendance sang Happy Birthday to Jerod Miller and shared birthday cake.
Kris Nelson assisted some people in the community and visited people in the hospital.
On May 28, we have a Memorial Day open-house and events at the Bohemian Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Lodge/community supper and activities begin at 6 p.m. Members and guests are asked to bring a covered dish and table service.
