September 2018

Our last meeting was August 11 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc.

Lumir and Carol Jebavy, Andrea and Samantha Raymakers, and Tony Jebavy walked the Relay for Life Cancer Walk representing us on July 27. The theme for their team was Hawaiian celebration. Their team raised over $8,500 for cancer research.

Carol Jebavy and Elaine Naidl helped serve children at the Vacation Bible School at St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc held August 6-10.

Our last meeting was September 8 at the Naidl residence in Manitowoc. We discussed upcoming events, including the State Meeting in Black River Falls. Carol Jebavy, Cathy Groelle, and Barb Schneider attended.
The Czech Choraliers, which were sponsored by us and include two of our members (Lumir Jebavy and Marvin Kliment), played at the Manitowoc Senior Center on August 23. They had one of their biggest turn-outs for the event. Our members donated Dixie cups for the event also.

Members met on November 10 with brunch.

August 2018

Our last meeting was August 11 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc.

Donations of water bottles, swords, artist paintbrushes, white washcloths, and paper cups were delivered by Carol Jebavy and Samantha Raymakers.

July 2018

Our last meeting was July 14 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc.

On June 23, members Marvin Kliment and Lumir and Carol Jebavy went to the Shoto Conservation Fishing Derby for area children. We donated money and volunteered at the derby.
On July 1, the Czech Choraliers sang in Two Rivers.

May 2018

Our last meeting was May 19 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc. Our lodge paid for Christine Georgenson’s ticket to the District dinner meeting on May 6 in Denmark.

Marvin Kliment and Lumir Jebavy worked at the rummage sale at St. Francis of Assisi. It was put on by the St. Clare Society, along with their bake sale. They raised over $5,300.

March 2018

Our last meeting was March 10 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc.

At the Cancer Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser on February 18, Lumir and Carol Jebavy sold hearts as representatives of No. 360. You received one of the prizes, including gift certificates, depending on which heart you picked.

They were also in charge of a bra pong display where prizes were earned for playing.

We participated in a bowling fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters on March 18. A rummage sale was planned for April 20 and 21.

Carol and Lumir popped popcorn for the 2nd grade children at St. Francis of Assisi so they could raise money for the class.

On March 18, members participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters bowling fundraiser and donated a check.

January 2018

Members met on January 13 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc. Upcoming meeting dates are May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, and November 3.

We discussed our upcoming meeting for the District Rally in May. A planning meeting was held January 28. Carol Jebavy is in charge of the dinner/Bingo event with Cathy as her co-chair. We believe the rally will be held in April and are still looking into finalizing the location.

Members re-elected the same officers for 2018.

In February, Carol Jebavy, Cathy Groelle, and Elaine Naidl audited the books from 2017 and worked on the annual report.

August 2017

Our last meeting was August 19 at the home of Elaine Naidl. We discussed the Relay for Life event that took place on July 28 and 29. Members Samantha Raymakers, Carol Jebavy, and Andrea Raymakers spent the whole day at the event.

As a new event for the youth this year, we helped at Vacation Bible School for St. Francis of Assisi Parish on August 1. We donated pizza sauce and yogurt for lunch.

Members sponsored the Czech Choraliers at the Manitowoc Senior Center on August 31, the Two Rivers Ethnic Fest on September 16, and at Laurel Grove in Manitowoc on October 5. Members Lumir Jebavy and Marvin Kliment are part of the group.

July 2017

Members met on July 8 at Elaine Naidl’s home. We discussed the State Convention that will be held on September 30. We have elected Carol Jebavy, Cathy Groelle, and Barb Schneider as delegates and paid for registration.

The Czech Choraliers sang at the capital on May 26 for the Accidental Hero show.

 

On July 28, the Jebavy’s participated in the American Cancer Relay for Life in Two Rivers. A monetary donation was made.

The Czech Choraliers were sponsored by us to sing at the Manitowoc Senior Center on August 31, along with the annual ice cream treat.

June 2017

Members met on June 17 at the home of Elaine Naidl in Manitowoc.

Earlier in June, State Secretary Barb Schneider and Secretary Cathy Groelle presented 50-year member Gail Burch with her pin.

The Jebavys went to a local assisted living facility and presented Grace Jirovetz with her Honorary Membership award (see Spotlight for photo).

Samantha Ray Makers and Carol and Lumir Jebavy sold flowers on Mother’s Day after church to raise money for Respect Life.

Barb Schneider and Cathy Groelle will attend the State Convention.

Cathy and Barb Schneider planted flowers again at the Czech Veteran’s Cemetery.

Earlier in May, the Czech Choraliers played at the Accidental Hero presentation. Members Lumir Jebavy and Marvin Kliment played and sang with Czech Choraliers.

March 2017

Our last meeting was March 11 at President Carol Jebavy’s house. We held a moment of silence for Victor Naidl, Joan Barta, and two other members who passed away.

We discussed the March 26 dinner and Bingo event for District 2.

Members received a Level I Award.

A few members volunteered at the Bowling to Strike out Cancer event on February 19. They worked the bust-a-balloon table and handed out prizes.

Lumir and Carol Jebavy have been making popcorn for the residents at the Manitowoc Health and Rehab Center. They will continue to do this twice a month for the remainder of the year. Several members brought in coupons for the vets.

We discussed doing Project Linus blankets again this year. Several have already been made.
Members bowled at the Big Brothers/Big Sisters fundraiser on April 2. We also donated money to the cause.

November 2016

Members met on November 12. We will help the Edgar Hanson Red Arrow Project and Park by donating money to them. They are beautifying the park and have painted a mural on a building there.
We went to a grade school to teach the class about Veteran’s Day.

Several puzzles were donated in November for the Veteran’s Homes in Wisconsin. Members also took copy paper, blankets, and sanitizer to the animal shelter in December.

April 2016

Members went to Oshkosh and fed 85 meals to the homeless on April 30 for Join Hands Day. We made pizzas, bars, and cookies in the kitchen. Later, we served ice cream. Left over desserts were given to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for an event they held the next day.

Samantha Raymakers won 2nd place at the Relay for Life in Manitowoc Purple Parade. She collected $55.74 for her outfit and walking the track.

We sent invitations for the State Convention with help from Two Rivers lodge.

February 2016

In February, Carol Jebavy, Cathy Groelle, and Elaine Naidl will audit the books from last year and work on the annual report for the Home Office.

We discussed our upcoming meeting for the district rally in April. Carol Jebavy is the district president, and we are planning Bingo for entertainment. We believe the rally will be held on April 3, but are still finalizing the location.

Members discussed Carol and Cathy working with the Two Rivers lodge to start organizing the State Convention.
Several coupons for the veterans and overseas active service families were turned in during the meeting.

Members met on January 9 and set up the meeting schedule for 2016. Tentative dates are May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, and November 5.
