Members held their annual children’s fishing tackle giveaway during the Phillips Harvest Festival on September 22. The giveaway included a Peregrine rod with a Trion reel, a Plano soft tackle box with two covered trays filled with Mepp’s spinners, lures, bobbers, hooks, sinkers, jig heads of various sizes and colors, twister tails, and jig spinners.
Members met August 12 at the Price County Airport meeting room in Phillips, WI.
Thank-you notes were read from Paul Pilch’s family, Jump River Valley Historical Society, and the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.
August and September donations will be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge and the Children’s Miracle Network.
An account of members who participated in the 35th annual Phillips Czechoslovakian Community Festival in June was taken.
Several Western members, who also belong to the Price County Antique Association, Ltd. (PCAA, Ltd.), participated with the Phillips Moose Lodge, the Phillips American Legion Auxiliary, and the Park Falls American Legion in a Moose Lodge Bingo fundraiser on August 12. Five lodge members hosted during the Price County Fair in Phillips on August 23-26 where antique machinery and other items are stored, maintained, and displayed.
The WI State Meeting will be held on October 6 in Black River Falls. Beverly and Dennis Brayton will be attending and taking our can tab check and items for the raffle.
Two members delivered used magazines to the Park Manor Nursing Home, the Flambeau Hospital, and Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips.
Our October meeting will be held at the Price County Airport.

We will again hold our youth activity project in September during the Phillips Fall Harvest Day. Lupine seeds will be on sale during the festival.
Five members attended the District 4 Meeting on June 3 in Ladysmith.
Changing meeting dates from Sundays to another day was discussed and will be brought up at the last meeting of the year.
We discussed participating in the 35th annual Phillips Czechoslovakian Festival on June 15 through 17.
Members made plans to attend the State Meeting in Black River Falls on October 6.

The Phillips Veteran’s Memorial wreath will again be refurbished by members of our lodge in time for Memorial Day.
April birthday party at Aspirus Pleasant View: Betty Bures, President Maureen Trojak, Secretary Therese Trojak, and Dennis Brayton.
Following the meeting, members hosted the April birthday party at the nursing home. We served cake and ice cream to all who were present, which included members from the entire Aspirus campus, musicians, visitors, and No. 236 members. Singer Red Higgins and band played and sang country music for entertainment. The April birthdays each received a birthday card and gift from our lodge.
The first meeting of 2018 was held on January 14 at the Price County Airport meeting room. Thank-you notes were read from the Phillips Trinity Food Pantry and Park Falls Lord’s Cupboard food pantry. Christmas greetings were read from the Home Office, Director Brenda Vrieze, and the Salvation Army.
Discussion was held on information received from Kelsey Logan and Brenda Vrieze to strengthen our lodge, getting pins to our 50 and 75-year members, ordering T-shirts, and the point system. Our 2017 audit was completed and sent in.
An election of officers for the ensuing year took place as follows: President Maureen Trojak, Vice President Beverly Brayton, and Secretary/Treasurer Therese Trojak.
Donations for January 2018 will be made to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice and our membership with The Friends of Fred group of the WI Concrete Park in Phillips.

Dennis and Beverly Brayton, with Therese and Maureen Trojak, attended the State Convention in Rice Lake on September 30. Our lodge was presented with our Level I Award for 2016 at the meeting.
Members met on October 8 at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home. A donation was made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for Make a Difference Day.
A sympathy card was sent to Lillian Pesko’s family.
Members met August 13 at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home. A thank-you note was read from the nursing home for donations to the resident’s birthday party. A thank-you note was also read from Aspirus Duroy Terrace for entertainment.
Beverly and Dennis Brayton and Therese and Maureen Trojak attended the State Convention in Rice Lake on September 30. Donation requests were made at the Convention.
The youth giveaway was September 23 at Wisconsin Concrete Park during the Phillips Fall Harvest.
For Join Hands Day, members from the lodge and Friends of Fred Smith made homemade ice cream at the WI Concrete Park during Heritage Days in May.
Members met April 20 at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home Family Room. A donation was made to the nursing home. Another donation was made to Duroy Terrace for their entertainment fund.

Thank-you notes were read from the Park Falls Lord’s Cupboard, the Phillips Trinity Pantry, Flambeau Home, Health and Hospice, and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Used glasses for the Lion’s Club and clean medication bottles were brought to be given to Blue Skies Animal Clinic. Magazines were brought to the nursing home. Two other members brought magazines to Lakeside Villa Assisted Living and shoes, clothing, and other items to St. Vincent de Paul store.
Our three 50-year members and two 75-year members were given their pins.
A meeting was held January 8 at the Aspirius Pleasant View Nursing Home. Officers will retain their same positions for 2017.
