October 2018

Members met October 3 at Suster’s in Denmark. Recently we delivered Project Linus blankets made by the YELL! group to JoAnn Fabrics. Western and YELL! members also dropped off Boyd’s Bears to Aurora and St. Vincent Hospital.

The lodge Booyah and Holiday for Heroes card signing was September 23 at the Coop. We enjoyed food made by members and signed cards that our YELL! group made for service personnel. We sold booyah to the public for a fundraising activity.

The State Meeting was October 6 in Black River Falls.

The family of Matt Kralovetz, Sandy and Art Schweiner, attended the meeting to pick up his 100-year membership certificate.

We welcome new members Jackelyn and John Nelson, Brady and Maxwell Krueger, Brian Johnson, and Jacqueline Kozlovsky.

Join us December 16 at noon for the Christmas party at the Coop in Denmark. There will be Santa, balloon tying, and face painting. Remember to bring new toys and canned goods for donation to the Denmark Food and Community Pantry.

For a Members in Action activity, we delivered school supplies to fourth grade classrooms at Denmark Elementary School.

Reminder to members to keep track of all volunteer hours to turn in to Mary and Judy at end of year!

August 2018

Members met August 1. The YELL! group stuffed Western bags with Boyd’s Bears for donation. They also cut and tied fleece blankets for Project Linus.

We applied for Members in Action for back-to-school supplies for Denmark Elementary 4th grade. Supplies (bookmarks, books, pencils, pens, rulers, etc.) were purchased and delivered on the first day of school.

Members will cut veggies and do highway pick up at the Coop on September 22 at 9 a.m. The fall Booyah party is at the Coop on September 23 at noon with Holiday for Heroes card signing. The State Meeting is at Black River Falls on October 6 with 10 a.m. start. The Christmas party is at the Coop on December 16 at noon with face painting and balloon animals. Bring donations (toys for Denmark Community Pantry and canned goods to Denmark Pantry).

We welcome new member Bette Chvala. Our sympathies go out to the family of Victor Kozlovsky.

May 2018

The District 2 Meeting was on May 6 at Suster’s in Denmark with 14 delegates and one guest. Judy Klika was chosen as District 2 Vice President and Bill Klipstine as Treasurer.

May 7 was Adopt-A-Highway pick-up. Eleven members helped with clean-up.

May 18 and June 1 were the brat fry at Main Street Market. We had good attendance and raised enough money to sponsor two scholarships.

Join us September 23 at noon for the Booyah party at the Coop in Denmark. Bring your own containers. We are selling to the public as a fundraiser. October 6 is the State Meeting in Black River Falls. December 16 is our Christmas Party at the Coop in Denmark at noon.

New members are Sydney Leupold, Madison Leupold, Kristen Kappelman, and Martin Blaha.
Household items were delivered to the Golden House Women’s Shelter.

Members in Action activities are being considered. We might buy school supplies and deliver to four 4th grade classrooms at Denmark Elementary School.

April 2018

We had an appreciation dinner for our 50 and 75-year members on February 25.

Members had a Big Brother Big Sister bowling multi-lodge event on March 18 with 15 participants and donated $100 to the organization.

American Legion pancake breakfast with YELL! members Carter Dayton, Isaac Delveaux, Sam Dayton, Pam Krueger, and Tom Klika.

The District 2 Dinner/Bingo at Gills in Whitelaw was April 8. Join Hands Day at Neshota Park was April 28. We helped assemble park playground equipment. May 6 was the District 2 Meeting at Suster’s in Denmark. May 7 was Adopt-A-Highway pick-up at Rudy Kolarik’s house.

Upcoming events include a brat fry on May 18 and June 1 at Main Street Market in Denmark from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the State Convention on October 6 in Black River Falls.

We welcome new member Cora Klika.

A monetary donation was made to Project Linus Blankets.

February 2018

Project Linus is a national organization with chapters in 50 states. Blankets are given to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere a child is in need. They provide love, warmth, comfort, and a sense of security to these children. The blankets were prepared by the YELL! group and adult members of No. 108.

January 2018

Members sorted items at St. Vincent de Paul on November 18.

A Christmas party was held December 10 at the Coop. Emily Jaeger and Mason Collins won bikes.
Donations of household items were made to Denmark Community Pantry and toys were donated to Denmark Community Cupboard.

Members held district planning for dinner Bingo on January 28. On February 8, we met and tied blankets for Project Linus. On February 25, an appreciation dinner was held for members at Wertel’s in Green Bay.
Upcoming events include, District 2 bowling at noon for Big Brothers Big Sisters at CZ’s on March 18, the state advisory meeting on March 24 at Hotel Meade in Wisconsin Rapids, lodge meeting at Suster’s (Denmark) on April 5 at 7 p.m., District 2 Bingo at noon on April 8 at Gill’s in Whitelaw, District 2 Meeting at noon on
May 6 at Suster’s (Denmark), and brat fry on May 18 and June 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Main Street Market in Denmark.

We welcome new member Hollis Boehm. All lodge officers were elected for another term.

Meeting times have changed from Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. to Thursday at 7 p.m. for the next few meetings to encourage families to attend. There is a youth activity planned for April 5, so encourage attendance of any age!

December 2017

On December 10, we had a Christmas party at the Coop and brought toys and canned goods for Denmark Community Pantry.

September 2017

Seven delegates attended the State Convention in Rice Lake.

We recognize new members Gerald Malewiski, Kolton Kittell, John Malewiski, Diane Malewiski, Wyatt Rosek, Joseph Rosek, Edith Anderson, Matthew Rasmussen, Kerry Rasmussen, and Jackson Lemke.

Meetings have been changed from Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. to Thursday nights at 7 p.m. to encourage families to attend. There will be youth activities planned for those meeting on February 8 and April 5, so encourage attendance for members of any age.

October 2017

The brat fry and bake sale were held June 2 at the Main Street Market in Demark. A meeting was held on August 2. Adopt-A-Highway and cutting veggies for the Booyah were held on October 14.

Join us at noon on October 15 at the Coop for the Booyah party and Holiday for Heroes card signing. Join us at the Coop on December 10 at noon for the Christmas party. Bring toys and canned goods for Denmark Community Pantry.

June 2017

On May 7, 18 members attended the District 2 Meeting. On May 8, 11 members participated in Adopt-A-Highway. On May 19 and June 2, members participated in the brat fry and bake sale at the Main Street Market.

The State Convention is in Rice Lake on September 30. The Booyah party will be held at noon on October 15 at the Coop. Our Christmas party is scheduled for noon on December 10 at the Coop.
We welcome new member Tyler Blaha.

Our sympathies go to the family of Betty Malewiski.

Household items were donated to the Golden House.

Congratulations to scholarship winners Leah Hansen, Celia Kolarik, and Emily Pickering.

March 2017

On March 26, we had a District 2 Dinner/Bingo at Gill’s. On April 1, the YELL! group sorted/priced items for St. Vincent de Paul. April 2 was our Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling Event with both members and YELL! in attendance. April 9, was the American Legion Pancake breakfast.

The Main Street Market will be May 19 and June 2 at 8 a.m. in Denmark with a Brat Fry and Bake Sale.

We welcomed members Kyle, Jace, and Beau Kapinos, Travis and Jackson Wellner, Daniel and Elizabeth Phipps, Jessica, Riley, and Finley Sinkler, Jessica Peterson, Ella Griepentrog, Sawyer Peterson, Renee and Ariana Jones, Corina Schmahl, and Brian Perkins.

We celebrated our 50 and 75-year members.

Donations were made to American Legion Building Fund. Members were also reminded to bring items to the June meeting to donate to the Golden House Shelter.
