Members met August 7 at Susters in Denmark.
We helped check in delegates on Wednesday afternoon for the National Convention. Eight members attended the meetings. We also helped pack 45,000 meals as part of the service project.
Upcoming events include, Project Linus with the YELL! group (time to be determined), Adopt-A-Highway, and cutting veggies for Booyah on October 12 at 9 a.m. at the Coop. The Booyah party is at noon on October 13 at the Coop; take-outs welcome. The Christmas party with Santa, balloon tying, and face painting by YELL! members is noon on December 1 at the Coop.
We welcome new member Kayden Lemke. Congrats to art winner Chloe Schroeder.
Randy Kolarik completed the ChFC course and is now a Chartered Financial Consultant! The certification qualifies him to consult on financial matters, especially for individuals and small businesses. In order to qualify for a ChFC, one must have worked a certain number of years in the financial industry and complete eight to nine courses on income tax, insurance, employee benefits, investment, and estate planning.

On May 5, delegates attended the District 2 Meeting at Mahut’s. Money was raised for scholarships.
On May 6, members joined together to complete our semi-annual Adopt-A-Highway pick up.
On May 17, delegates attended the State Meeting held at Milwaukee Elks Lodge. We received our Shining Star Award for work we did last year.
The National Convention is July 18-19 in Green Bay. Volunteers are welcome to help with the service project on July 19, 11 a.m., at the Hyatt. We need volunteers to help July 17 with arrivals. Contact the Home Office for details.
YELL! members will be working on Project Linus blankets in the future. The lodge Booyah is at noon on October 13 at the Coop. The Christmas party is at noon on December 1 at the Coop with Santa, balloon tying, and face painting.
Celia Kolarik and Kate Quade won a National Scholarship. Madilyn Kolarik, Abbey Wanek, and Jeremy Schlies won our lodge scholarship.
Items were brought to the meeting for donations to the Golden House in Green Bay.
Members met April 3 at Susters.
On February 24, we had the lodge appreciation dinner at Wertel’s in Green Bay. During this thank-you event, members also handed out 50-year member pins to Grady Cotter and Phyllis Eckert.
On March 24, we had the District 2 Dinner/Bingo at Susters. A total of 77 members from District 2 attended and money was raised for the scholarship fund.
On March 31, we bowled for Big Brothers Big Sisters at CZ’s Bushville Lanes with 21 people from the Denmark, Melnik, and Manitowoc lodges. We had a great time and donations were made.
On April 24, three members and four YELL! members helped the veterans by bussing tables and assisting at the American Legion Porkie Breakfast. A huge turnout kept the members busy.
Upcoming events are as follows: May 17 and May 31 brat fry fundraiser is at Main Street Market in Denmark from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The State Meeting is June 1 at Milwaukee Elks Lodge. The National Convention is July 18-19, in Green Bay, WI. The date for Project Linus blankets with the YELL! group is to be determined.
Clothes were brought to the meeting for donation to St. Vincent de Paul. Cash donations were made to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
On January 27, we had the district planning meeting for dinner Bingo. We met with others from the district to plan the event to be held March 24.
On February 6, we had a meeting and election of officers with the following results: President Greg Lacenski, Vice-President Tom Warden, Secretary Judy Klika, Treasurer Mary Kvitek, and Correspondent Celia Kolarik.
Upcoming events are the District 2 Dinner/Bingo at Suster’s in Denmark on March 24 at noon, bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters at CZ’s Bushville Lanes on March 31 at noon, the American Legion porkie breakfast with the YELL! group on April 14, and the District 2 Meeting is at Machut’s on May 5 at noon. On May 17 and May 31, we have a brat fry fundraiser at the Main Street Market in Denmark from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The State Meeting is at the Milwaukee Elks Lodge on June 1. The National Convention is in Green Bay, WI on July 18-19.

Members met October 3 at Suster’s in Denmark. Recently we delivered Project Linus blankets made by the YELL! group to JoAnn Fabrics. Western and YELL! members also dropped off Boyd’s Bears to Aurora and St. Vincent Hospital.
The lodge Booyah and Holiday for Heroes card signing was September 23 at the Coop. We enjoyed food made by members and signed cards that our YELL! group made for service personnel. We sold booyah to the public for a fundraising activity.

The family of Matt Kralovetz, Sandy and Art Schweiner, attended the meeting to pick up his 100-year membership certificate.

For a Members in Action activity, we delivered school supplies to fourth grade classrooms at Denmark Elementary School.

Members met August 1. The YELL! group stuffed Western bags with Boyd’s Bears for donation. They also cut and tied fleece blankets for Project Linus.
We applied for Members in Action for back-to-school supplies for Denmark Elementary 4th grade. Supplies (bookmarks, books, pencils, pens, rulers, etc.) were purchased and delivered on the first day of school.
Members will cut veggies and do highway pick up at the Coop on September 22 at 9 a.m. The fall Booyah party is at the Coop on September 23 at noon with Holiday for Heroes card signing. The State Meeting is at Black River Falls on October 6 with 10 a.m. start. The Christmas party is at the Coop on December 16 at noon with face painting and balloon animals. Bring donations (toys for Denmark Community Pantry and canned goods to Denmark Pantry).

The District 2 Meeting was on May 6 at Suster’s in Denmark with 14 delegates and one guest. Judy Klika was chosen as District 2 Vice President and Bill Klipstine as Treasurer.
May 7 was Adopt-A-Highway pick-up. Eleven members helped with clean-up.
May 18 and June 1 were the brat fry at Main Street Market. We had good attendance and raised enough money to sponsor two scholarships.

We had an appreciation dinner for our 50 and 75-year members on February 25.
Members had a Big Brother Big Sister bowling multi-lodge event on March 18 with 15 participants and donated $100 to the organization.

The District 2 Dinner/Bingo at Gills in Whitelaw was April 8. Join Hands Day at Neshota Park was April 28. We helped assemble park playground equipment. May 6 was the District 2 Meeting at Suster’s in Denmark. May 7 was Adopt-A-Highway pick-up at Rudy Kolarik’s house.

A monetary donation was made to Project Linus Blankets.
Project Linus is a national organization with chapters in 50 states. Blankets are given to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere a child is in need. They provide love, warmth, comfort, and a sense of security to these children. The blankets were prepared by the YELL! group and adult members of No. 108.

A Christmas party was held December 10 at the Coop. Emily Jaeger and Mason Collins won bikes.
Donations of household items were made to Denmark Community Pantry and toys were donated to Denmark Community Cupboard.

Meeting times have changed from Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. to Thursday at 7 p.m. for the next few meetings to encourage families to attend. There is a youth activity planned for April 5, so encourage attendance of any age!
