Members met three times in September at the Cisler home.
We made center pieces to be used at the upcoming fall festival. Pumpkins decorated with candy were made. Afterward, they were donated to local shut-ins.
Members met November 9 at Kellnersville Center.
We hosted a guest speaker from the Painting Pathways Clubhouse. They are located in Manitowoc, WI and work to change lives and support recovery for those with mental illness. We made a monetary donation to their organization.
Members had a monthly meeting and made preparations for our Christmas party.
In July, ten delegates from the Czech Republic came to Two Rivers to present the city with a plaque honoring Lt. Col. Matt Konop from our area. Matt Konop was born in Stangelville, WI, but lived most his adult life in Two Rivers. He is the main character in the play, The Accidental Hero, who unites the Two Rivers area with the city of Domažlice in the Czech Republic.
Seven members participated in the Two Rivers celebration which included an ice cream social, Czech singing, and ticket-taking for the play on July 1. Two Rivers became a sister city with Domažlice in the Czech Republic last year, and the event is “to encourage a greater understanding of and appreciation for the history that binds our two communities together,” Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley stated.
Members met July 13 and August 10 at Kellnersville. Birthday celebrations were held for Len Sauer and Wayne Cisler.
Members met May 11. We awarded Katie Sievert a lodge scholarship. Katie’s family are active members and she maintained 3.8 GPA through high school.
We are making plans to work with the Two Rivers Historical Society for a work project.
Donations were made to In Courage (formerly Domestic Violence) for children’s baskets.
Members met on March 9. We had six members participate at the District Joint Bowling at CZ’s in Denmark, WI.

We recognized Marian Zeman’s birthday with a potluck and cake after the meeting.
Our lodge met at All Saints School in Denmark and donated 25 fire safety coloring books to the 1st through 4th grade classes.
Members donated money to purchase paper products and items needed for the Domestic Violence Center of Manitowoc. We donated rather than having a Christmas gift exchange at our Christmas party.
Members met November 10 to plan the Christmas party and hold the election of officers for 2018. An audit committee was selected.
The election results are as follows: President Steve Stransky, Vice President Ron Maresh, Secretary Diane Grimmer, and Treasurer Joyce Cisler.
Fall decorations we made were used as prizes for the Fall Festival held on October 13.
Members met August 11 and presented a check to Jamie Kersten for the Family Benefit. She attended our meeting with her sister and mother in honor of her son Cody. Cody was the recipient of the $1,000 Family Benefit and a member of our lodge.
We celebrated Len Sauer’s 98th birthday at the meeting as well.
In July, members met and made tissue flower arrangements that were delivered to shut-ins and Agnes Schmidt.
We had guest speakers Don and Judy Steckmesser share pictures and details of their time in Alaska as camp volunteers.
Preparations are being made to attend the State Convention in Rice Lake.
We honored Grace Kubichka for her birthday (see Spotlight for photo).
Donations were made to the Knights of Columbus, Denmark Counsel.
Members participated in our district joint bowling held at Bushville Lanes in April.
Guest speaker Dick Reuhr gave a presentation on stained glass. After taking classes, he began with small items and worked towards items for yard and lamps.
On June 9, members met and discussed donations. We are collecting dry goods to be presented to the Haven, a local men’s shelter. A check was mailed to the Salvation Army for victims of a local apartment fire. A cash donation was made to those struggling with high medical bills.
We also celebrated Marian Zeman’s 94th birthday and Janice Tetzlaff’s 77th birthday (see Spotlight for photos).
We honored our 50-year member Marilee Herrmann and 75-year members Arlene Mauer and Donald Cigler with meals and pins at the Spring Rally for District 2.
Members got together to assemble a photo album with dates and photos from our lodge’s history. Memories and fun events were discussed.

Our 50 and 75-year members will receive a free meal at the Spring Rally, taking place at Gill’s Whitelaw at noon on March 26.
