Lodge Colorado No. 431, Denver, CO. We had 22 adults and 8 children from the Honey Bear Tree Daycare participate in two projects. One project was to prepare and plant vegetables and flowers in several large, donated tractor tires (see photo on back cover). The lodge was also involved in saving Labels for America (an ongoing project) and the children pasted them on the specially marked pages. With the points earned from this project, a ball cart was put together on JHD.

Lodge Cedar No. 7, Cedar Rapids, IA. Fourteen members joined with dozens of students and parents at Wilson school in Cedar Rapids. These volunteers cleaned up and landscaped the school grounds for JHD. We were assigned the specific duty of clearing brush and debris from an area behind and between buildings
Lodge Karel IV No. 13, Cedar Rapids, IA. Our members, along with a CSA group, raked and bagged leaves and debris at the Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Lodge Iowa No. 85, Protivin, IA. The Howard County Historical Society, the 4-H Millennium Master Club, and our members gathered together to clean the Little Red School House. Now it can be open for school tours, other interested groups, and the local fair.
Lodge Cesti Bratri No. 104, Clutier, IA. We combined several organizations: Vining City Council, CSA Lodge, Boy Scout Troop 300 from Elberon, and our members to clean Vining City Park.

Lodge Klas No. 160, Center Point, IA. Our lodge members decided to do two projects for JHD. The first project took place on May 6 with the Center Point Learning Class. We boxed groceries and took them to shut-ins. Our second project took place on May 8 at the Alburnett High School. Eight members joined eight students, two parents, and a teacher to put together 2,000 meals to feed the hungry in Haiti. Member Steve Schmickle headed this wonderful project. We all had a great time and will consider repeating it another time this year.

Lodge Cedar Rapids No. 262, Cedar Rapids, IA. Twelve Grant Elementary School students, their families, school staff, and lodge members planted three trees near the school parking lot. Member Bob Petrzelka gave an educational talk about caring for the environment and how to plant and care for the trees. Afterwards, we distributed Earth Care coloring books and bookmarks to the students and provided them with treats (see photo on front cover). Other groups helping us included the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and the Knights of Columbus.

Lodge Five Hundred No. 500, Cedar Rapids, IA. Fourteen members and four youth turned out to clean the Wilson school library for JHD. Books were removed from the shelves, both were dusted, and put back in order. Other areas of the library were also cleaned.
