“Congratulations on your new home,” is one of my favorite things I get to say to clients. Whether you are buying a home or re-financing a property, it’s my job to clearly explain the difference between home-owners insurance and mortgage insurance.
What is the difference? Home-owner’s insurance protects the property and your personal liability if someone becomes injured at your home. Examples of home-owner’s insurance claims include storm damage requiring a roof repair, or someone needing medical attention from your dog biting them. Mortgage insurance is typically a term life insurance policy which will pay for the home’s mortgage if a home owner dies. I sell both products to my clients so that they can be covered, no matter what may happen.
The plan gives families the peace of mind knowing that they will not lose their homes.
I know, in my heart, I left the family far better off than when I first met them, and that I have helped protect their future. I strive to see as many families as possible in order to spread the word about life insurance and how it applies to homes and people. My motto is, “It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.”
